چکیده
The pennellid copepod Lernaeenicus ramosus Kirtisinghe, 1956 is a marine fish parasite in the Indo-West Pacific region. Serranid fishes (Perciformes) are major hosts of L. ramosus, and as its non-serranid host, single blenniid (Blenniiformes) known from Australia. A metamorphosed ovigerous female was collected grub fish, Parapercis sexfasciata (Temminck & Schlegel, 1843) (Perciformes: Pinguipedidae), coastal waters Suruga Bay, an inlet western North Ocean, Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan. This represents new second host records for it also first record pinguipedid fish. briefly described. previously reported “Pennella sp.” same species Iyo-Nada Sea, part Seto Inland Japan, considered to be ramosus.

On the Food of the Salmonoid Fish , Ayu (Plecoglossus altivclis Temminck & Schlegel). II
The present paper, as we have mentioned in the previous report, embodies our more extensive studies concerning the food of the Ayu and also its food-habit as to whether it changes or not according to the ages¤ locality, or season. In the young stage, living in the sea or lake, Ayu feeds entirely on zooplankton (Copepoda, Ostracoda, Phyllopoda etc.); and also on the similar matters until it has ...
متن کاملNew Host Record, Chalcalburnus mossulensis (Heckel, 1843) (Teleostei; Cyprinidae) for Ergasilus mosulensis Rahemo, 1982 (Copepoda; Ergasilidae)
We report the presence of the parasitic copepod Ergasilus mosulensis Rahemo, 1982 (Copepoda, Ergasilidae) on the Caspian sheaya, Chalcalburnus mossulensis (Heckel, 1843) (Teleostei, Cyprinidae), caught from Atatürk Dam Lake (360 41' N 370 49' E, Sanliurfa, Turkey) between July and August 2006. A total of 23 Ergasilus mosulensis Rahemo, 1982 (Ergasilidae) were recorded from the gills of this fis...
متن کاملHost-Parasite Interactions in Some Fish Species
Host-parasite interactions are complex, compounded by factors that are capable of shifting the balance in either direction. The host's age, behaviour, immunological status, and environmental change can affect the association that is beneficial to the host whereas evasion of the host's immune response favours the parasite. In fish, some infections that induce mortality are age and temperature de...
متن کاملHost ontogeny and the temporal decay of similarity in parasite communities of marine fish.
Geographical distances between host populations are key determinants of how many parasite species they share. In principle, decay in similarity should also occur with increasing distance along any other dimension that characterizes some form of separation between communities. Here, we apply the biogeographical concept of distance decay in similarity to ontogenetic changes in the metazoan parasi...
متن کاملFish as the natural second intermediate host of Gnathostoma spinigerum.
Gnathostomiasis is a helminthic disease most frequently occurring in Thailand. Human infections are usually found to be caused by Gnathostoma spinigerum, although five species of the genus Gnathostoma exist in Thailand, and three of these are capable of infecting man. In Thailand, 47 species of vertebrates--fish (19), frogs (2), reptiles (11), birds (11) and mammals (4)--have been reported to s...
